I have a 2000 cadillac seville sts with bose and i want to keep the factory radio and add an amp and subs. my question is can i use any old hi/lo convertor or will i need something different because of the bose? thanks...

Try out this search.  But if it were me, ALL the bose would go.
Build the box so that it performs well in the worst case scenario and, in return, it will reward you at all times.

yeah, i hear ya.. that's what i did with my last sts took everything out and ran all new. but really dont want to get into all that with this one. just want to keep it simple... thanks

You do not need a special line out converter.

peripheral makes a really good line out converter. i use them every day. 
you can do it....
advanced MECP, lol does it really matter....

i looked at my amp and it has a high level input so i just used that. thanks for the input...
