I just had a Kenwood DX 7120 put in my car. Great unit so far but I can't get the video to show on the DVD. I put in a DVD and the audio plays fine. I can even hit the touch screen randomly to get the movie playing but no picture.
All I get is a blue screen with the words "parking off" in white text.
I called my installer and he seemed to think there wasn't a wire for the parking brake. He mentioned that he didn't see a wire and thought the 7120 didn't have this feature.
Did my guy miss it or is there some other trick to get this thing to work. wth?

I am not familiar with that deck, but it sounds to me like it does have a parking brake wire.  Have you looked in the manual to determine which wire it is?  And once you find the wire, you will need to connect it to the parking brake wire of your vehicle.

Kenwood Decks should have a light green wire for the Parking brake.  Like "i am an idiot" said, all you have to do is hook it to your parking brake wire....no sweat... and you'll be able to get video when you have the pbrake depressed.  What kind of a vehicle do you have!?

some in dash video radio's require you to press, release then press again on the E-brake. I know alpine units require that. Maybe that will help.
