I currently have a Clarion APX640.4 and looking at the stats I cant seem to figure out at which impedance it gives out the 80W x 4 RMS

I'd getting 4 JBL C608GTi - II Speakers and was thinking of upgrading to the JBL PX300.4 amplifier.

I dont really understand the whole 2 / 4 ohm options on the amplifiers...I assume that if you have 4 ohm speakers the amp will produce the 4 ohm stats?

Following are the stats of the speakers and the two amps. Could someone please post the wattage that I would be getting out of each amp playing these speakers? And maybe then recommend whether or not its worth the amp upgrade or not?

Your final impedance load will depend on how many speakers, the impedance of each speaker and how you wire them. You should take a look at the new Arc Audio KS Minis. There amazingly small and provide ample power.

so what would be the impedance of 4 - 4 ohm speakers like the ones above?

Well if you ran each speaker to a seperate channel then the final impedance load would be 4 ohms for each speaker. So that means you would get what ever the rated output is x4 at 4 ohms.

Ok but how about the Clarion amp when it says continuous power output of 80 x 4.

Im running one speaker per channel...4 ohm speakers...however it ways 2 Ohm stereo and 4 ohm bridged...so...my question is...with the clarion amp and those speakers how much wattage can I expect from each speaker?

Continuous Power Output - 80x4

Output Impedance - 2 Ohms Stereo / 4 Ohms Bridged

Each channel of the amp will have a 4 ohm load on it.  The 4 X 80 you are talking about, is that into 2 ohms or into 4.  Whatever it is rated at into 4 ohm stereo, that is what you will have.

See thats the problem that I am currently having...I cant find any other specs on the amp than what I have posted...I have a PDF file for the amp and it doesnt say anything other than what I posted...This is why I am confused...

it says

Output Impedance - 2 Ohms Stereo / 4 Ohms Bridged

does that mean that it only runs at 2 Ohms Stereo and to get 4 Ohms that the amp must be bridged...I have no idea...I dont even really know what Bridged means...

I am trying to figure out how much wattage I will get out of this amp with 4 - 4 ohm speakers...but my experience with amps is limited so im hoping someone here can help me out.

That spec should say Minimum output impedance 2 ohm stereo or 4 ohm mono. You can realistically expect 80 watts per channel with all 4 channels driven into a 4 ohm load.
Bridging
