kicker amp/sub cutting outwhy?

I have a kicker 400.1 amp(rated at 487) and 1 kicker solobaric L5 (2006 Model). Got them all new. When I play certain songs or even when loud it just turns off, or rather the amp gets the RED light, I assume protected mode. Why is that? it wired to be at 2ohm stable and it works just fine. I have a pioneer DEH-2900mp with HP at 80hz LP at 80hz while the gain is at -10 from the stereo, bass even at 0. The amp is set to play up to 100hz as indicated on the knob, and gain at less then half. The bass boost is at 0. What can cause this? The ground and wires are fine. The power wire it might be less then the desirable gauge, but work fine.

test the power and ground whit a volt metter and your car runnig it has to be on 13+- volt if is good maybe 1 of the coils of the solobaric is bad how many ohms is the speaker and how do you conect it?pablo

the speaker is 2 ohm, and is wired as in the specs, to make the sub drop to 2 ohm.

ok if the speaker is a dual 2 ohmsyou canot makeit drop at 2 ohmsif you do + and + and - and - togeteryou will drop it to 1 ohm and that is no good for you ampif you did series wirring is a 4 ohm load safe for the ampyou canot make a dual 2 ohm speaker 2 ohm unless you only use 1 voice coilpablo

One or more of the following is happening:

1. Your gain is too high2. Your impedance load is too low3. You have a bad ground connection4. Your vehicle's electrical system voltage is dropping too low

How did you set your gain?  How is the speaker wired?  What is the exact model number of the amp and the speaker(s)?  How do you know the "ground and wires are fine"?  What is your ground return resistance?  What is your system voltage when the amp shuts down?
