Hello everyone...
i'm about to go and get my windows tinted, and i was looking to get the dark silver tint, but the issues that follow with decreasing alarm range/function concerns me. the alarm is a lynx 2000R. is there any truth to this? and if so, is there any way to enhance the range/performance of the alarm, besides not getting mirror tints?
as always, your replies and comments are appreciated.

Hey, mount the antenna along side the A pillar on the driver's side. Have the dipole running parallel with the a pillar plastic cover. This will increase your range ( in comparison to mounting it parallel with the roof ) and this will have no affect on the rage if you decide to tint the windows.

I have all my windows tinted with silver all metal film (windshield included) i have an 800ESP, it reduced range somewhat, but not as much as i thought. I put my antenna in the same place as Jeff suggested.
I guess this dosen't help much since your not using a Viper, but all metal window tint and even hybrid charcoal/metal tint will reduce range. The only type that won't reduce range is the cheap stuff that starts to turn purple as you leave the lot ;)
Well Jeff, technically it will have some effect on range, as your not always pointing at the front of the car :)

A Pillar is the peice of plastic/metal that runs from the top of the windshield along side to the bottom of the dash.
