I have been going back an forth between which sub to use. Actually which type of configuration for the sub to use. I am running 5 channel alpine amp with a 5th channel that is 200/1 @ 4 ohms mono. I just would like it to sound good, nice smooth bass, good response, and be the best sub that I can get within my price range. My dilemma is whether to use a dual 2 ohm sub, dual 4 ohm sub and run one channel, or just use a SVC 4 ohm sub. 10 inch sub and I was trying to keep the encloser sealed but a ported is a possibility.

Currently the subs I am looking at are:

RE-SE series in Dual 2 ohm

Diamond Audio D110D4.2 Dual 4 ohm

JL Audio 10w1v2.4 SVC 4 ohm

I am not completely dead set on these perticular sub but they are the ones I have been looking at mostly. Any input or advice would be appreciated.

JL. Best SQ of what you have listed there, and smaller enclosure requirements. Keep your impedance up, you'll gain damping and efficiency, as well as (arguably) lose distortion.

The others are good choices as well, but I just like the JL gear.

It all reminds me of something that Molière once said to Guy de Maupassant at a café in Vienna: "That's nice. You should write it down."

i agree with haemphyst jl is the way to go,but like he said the others are top quality too, but you can't beat jl they combine good spl with outstanding sq

... and use a SVC 4-ohm or a DVC 8-ohm sub.
