As you can see from this image - the car is running, not remotely started. It's an '07 Saturn VUE incidentally.
I actually have driven it this way from last Wednesday until today like that - stopped in the dealer to have them check out the sticking key cylinder and noisy wheel bearings. An hour or so later I've got a car with a dissasembled ignition switch/column shroud and a service manager who's telling me they don't have a replacement Passlock receiver(which needs to be replaced anytime the key cylinder is removed), and they also don't have any loaner vehicles available.
Now I'm kinda confused myself why I didn't just start yelling about how utterly inexcusable the service was, but I ended up looking at it and saying, "I bet if I remotely start it, and then turn the ignition switch on, it will be drivable." Sure enough it was, I got home allright and everyone lived happily ever after, except me if my air conditioner still smells funny after tomorrow when I pick this car up.
