From what you have on the diagram that you ave done so far with the lock, you will have to do the same to the unlock. Grab the wires at the same place that you did for the lock wires and hook up the relay like it is shown on the diagram that you have  : http://www.glenshadow.net/ram/Dodge_Door_Lock_relays.jpg and it should work. Have you tried to wire up this relay in this configuration yet ? The target input wire for the Dodge unlock should be a (+) pulse.

Yes.. I have it wired as in the diagram you saw.

Only difference, I grabbed the unlock wire (pink/purple) at the kick panel this time.... I was looking all in the door and couldn't find the same colors going to switch and motor. Switch has one set of colors... and going to the motor is ORANGE / Black and I forget the other.... so for lock I spliced right behind the switch.....

I can give it another round today.. I ended up installing some other stuff yesterday after I got to that point... so fresh eyes today and I will let you know what I come up with.

I know this is a pain but you wmay have to go into the door and cut the wire between the stich and the motor & place the relay in line of the cut wire in the door. Some vehicles you don't have to but other you do.

Hmmm... now I know why I went for career in computers....

OK.. I found one problem.. the Alpine Unlock was not pulsing anything out. I checked the Lock and it pulsed .61 volts, and the Unlock Other (WHITE/ Blue) pulsed .61 volts when activated respectively.

OK.. switched wire to Unlock other (WHITE/ blue). Now when I connect up the unlock relay... it forces unlock and stays unlock... basically stuck.. If I push down on the door lock it is stuck solid.. so seems like somehow it is stuck 12 volts once I connect up the unlock relay.

I tried switching 85 and 86 and no difference.

Tried 2 other relays... same thing.

?

The WHITE  / BLUE wire is the priority unlock wire for passenger and all other doors. That is very odd that the output on the WHITE/ GREEN wire has 0 voltage. Did you place a ( + ) 12 volts on the positive leasd of your multimeter and then put the negative lead on the WHITE/ GREEN wire and press the remote to toggle the unlock wire ? It should have given you a reading of 12 volts for about 1/2 second ( 2 times ).  Switching the 85 & 86 pin does not make a difference as long as they are not the same polarity it doesn't matter.

If the way you tested the wire is the same as above, you may have a burned out unlock output on the 8063 ! Make sure of this by doing the test outlined above and if you get 0 as a reading , then bring it back to the place you got it from and tell them that the unlock output on the alarm is fried.

OK.. When I try the testing method described above.. here is what I get.

I plug the positive lead of my meter into +12Vdc, and the negative lead into the WHITE/ Green. I come up with +12Vdc. When I toggle, I lose a few tenths of a volt because dome light comes on.. but nothing drastic. I tried this with the WHITE/ Blue as well and get same results.

For kicks I tried against the WHITE/ Brown (Alpine Unlock) and I get +2VDC. When I toggle, it goes to +12Vdc for a few seconds and then back to 2 volts. (yes two volts)

Now I tried all this with the relays all removed. I can try hooking back up the Lock relay and retesting for kicks.

*Update... put lock relay back in.. verified that it works.. tested both Unlock Wires off Alpine.. both stay at +12Vdc constant.*

Ok Jeff,

I called Alpine and asked went through it with Tech Support. He asked me to do continuity to ground on both the lock and unlocks.

The Lock as we know works fine. White and Green did not work, and WHITE/ Blue did work. Basically there is something wrong with the brain. He said that is the ultimate test and it failed.

I really thank you for all your help and time. If I was in Canada, I would stop up and buy you an ice cold Molson XXX.

I will update when I get the unit back from Alpine approx 10 days from now.

Thanks again,

Glenshadow

Good to hear that I wasn't leading you on a wild goose chase for wires and what not !! When you get the new brain in, let us know and post if you have any other problems and I'm sure I'll be around.....

later

Hello Jeff,

I finally got around to putting my brain back in..... I must tell you I am a lot more responsive now with this new one.

Er... the Alarm is... The diagram works, the doors do their things just as they should.... and all is finally finished. Alpine got me a replacement in 3 days. Pretty nice of them ! I just got too lazy to do it.... so I picked the hottest day of the year yesterday and slaved away at it.  Even now the alarm seems to respond a whole lot smoother to commands... like entering programming mode the first time I do it.. and arm/disarm on first shot. Guess my previous brain was an under achiever !

I just wanted to thank you for all your help !

Thanks again,

Glenshadow
