i wanted to hook up my strobe's to come on if the alarm is activated and disable the headlights from flashing to protect my hid headlights.

can anyone tell me a positive to use for the strobes with a relay and where?

can i just cut a certain wire to disable the headlights from flashing?

I don't think there is any alarm status output on the factory alarm you can use for your idea. I have thought about it and I think you will have to run a aftermarket alarm system. use it's + or - out put status to trun a realy to cut power to your HID's and use the siren + to power up the strobes, factory will still operate but NOT flash the headleamps.

Does the factory alarm sound the horn and flash the headlights? If so do the horn and headlights come on at the same time? Or is it Honk flash honk flash?

as per flashing HIDs:

use the key sense wire from the ignition harness (tumbler) as a relay cut-off trigger for your headlights. this way your headlights only work when your key is in the ignition. (99% of key sense circuits use a negative pulse to identify "key-in")

instead of using an accessory/ignition triggered cut-off, this also enables you to turn your lights on if your engine or accessories are turned off.

i've used this method to defeat circuit function on several vehicles. (ie: headlamps, parking lamps, horn, etc. for vehicles that can't be programmed otherwise)

Oh, yeah, btw check to see that those functions can't be over-riden in some kind of factory programming sequence. (should have mentioned that first, sorry)
