removing remote clifford matrix rsx 3.5

Just bought a new remote (aka replacement remote), and having trouble getting original (aka old remote) from still having access to alarm. My overall intention is to take the new remote and only have that as the sole transmitter of that car; however the original remote still stays on the alarm after many failed attempts. *1st problem* As stated on the manual of how to install a new remote: Step 1-Open door Step 2-Key position to on *within 15 seconds* Step 3-Press valet button 1 time (for alarms with auto-start) Step 4-Immediately after press and hold valet button Step 5-While maintaining to hold the valet button, press 'the' button on the transmitter you wish to assign to that channel When they say "press 'the' button on the transmitter you wish to assign," which button is "the" button? There is no indication of lock, unlock, auxiliary, or star button. Or do they mean by "THE button" that they mean "Any Button on the transmitter you wish to assign?" *Second point* From my knowledge the last time I spoke with a DEI tech, there can be up to 3 remotes per alarm system. One suggestion to rid myself of an old remote is to take the new remote and attempt to install the new remote as many times needed to fill up the 3 slots (or however many slots there are) to wipe out any code coming from a previous remote. Unfortunately what felt like 30 times, it still failed. The old remote still shared control over the alarm with the new remote. There is also a channel number to delete all transmitters. It is 11 for alarms with remote start, and 9 for alarms without. I have failed many times at this. These are the steps I performed and maybe someone can tell me what I'm doing wrong: Step 1-Open a door Step 2-Put key in 'on' position Step 3-Press the valet button 11 times and immediately after press and hold till LED blinks and alarm chirps Step 4-Pull out key *alarm chirps once LED blinks and again after when you pull out the key* Any suggestions to get rid of old remote from the alarm?

Isn't there an erase all remotes setting?

So the scoop is, I found out that when wanting to delete all transmitters you have to select channel 14 (meaning press valet button 14 times). So open a door, put the key in on position, press valet button 14 times, following press and hold valet button till chirping, while still holding down valet button press any button of the transmitter (face) you want to get rid of that already shares code with the alarm(i.e. lock, unlock, star, aux), once alarm sounds all should be done. That is what happened with my first car. My second car that also has this alarm is a little more stubborn. While attempting to enter my 14 presses on the valet button my alarm chirps right at 10 making it impossible to complete a full 14 presses. Also, after talking to a DEI tech, he said that it is actually 4 spots/remotes to one alarm so all I have to do is push out any other remotes with the remote I want 4 times and it should wipe out the other remotes. However, as I have also found out with my first car's alarm, that does not work. Any suggestions? A bit writer is a little too much investment for me.

head to a shop and see if they can use their bit writer and do it. they might charge you 20 but it sure saves you the hassle.
