I just put a 990 on my 02 f250 7.3l manual.  When the truck is cold i will remote start it and it will only run for about 10 seconds.  I have it on a timer for the glow plugs.  Havent gotten a chance to hook up the wait to start wire.  When it is warm it will stay running.  I have it set on voltage for the remote start to detect the truck is running.

When you say a 990, am I to assume it's a Python 990?

Voltage sense doesn't work because this truck is like a christmas tree with all the clearance lights and the remote starter "thinks" that the engine hasn't started correctly at the end of the 10 second window. Thus turning off the engine then trying a second time usually.

If it's a Python 990, turn engine checking OFF and program crank length to 4 seconds.

This truck has OEM anti-grind which will assure it doesn't overcrank.

Prepare your future. It wasn't the lack of stones that killed the stone age.
