New to this forum, not to automotives.

So, in one of my better moves I've lost my car key. It's an '87 300ZX, NA manual tranny. Called the dealer, no key code on record and the new ignition would be $183. I'm wondering how difficult it would be to rig up a remote starter. I'm sure you electrical guys have some write up on how to install them on manual transmission cars, but I've yet to find something.

Another option I was thinking about was just running some large gauge wire from the + of the battery into the cab where I could hide a push-button ignition. Run the other side of the switch to the starter and complete the circuit when the button is pressed. Thanks to anyone who offers help.

Yep. I had a feeling there'd be an uber easy solution I didn't think about. $30 at the local lock smith. Thanks a ton.

Again, since its a man transmission you can try this company. www.compustar.com

Its meant for manual transmission cars and had built in turbo timer. =)

it is possible to get the car running by those methods but you still need to unlock the steering wheel
