I'm trying to ad a replacement remote to my 5000RS-2W Plus, but for some reason I can't figure out how to make it work. My car is a 2001 Eclipse Spyder GS.
The instructions say
1. Turn on the ignition key On, Off, On, Off and back on. (Key on 4 times)
* The siren will chirp 4 times.
2. Press and hold the Override switch for 5 seconds.
* The siren will chirp 4 times
* The LED will illuminate
3. Press Button 1 on the first transmitter.
* The siren will chirp once.
4. Turn off the ignition key.
The problem is that I can't get past step 1. When I turn the ignition key on 4 times nothing happens. I can press and hold the Override (Call) switch to make the siren chirp but obviously that's not the correct way. Is there anything I'm not doing correctly? When I turn the ignition key On, I turn it on enough for the radio to turn on. Do I have to start the car?

I have a Galaxy 2000RS that is installed in a 1995 Ford F150. I was having the same problem. It turned out that I wasn't turning the ignition on/off fast enough. Hope this works for you.

Thank you so much nokia445! That was it. I had no idea I was waiting too long to turn on the ignition. I turn it off and on quickly and it worked! I'd give you a straight man hug if I was in SD.
