We made out much better than we did with Katrina. We had more rain and wind for the two days after the strongest part of Gustav passed than we did as it was passing. We first had power back on around 8:30 pm Monday night. Lost it again the following morning. Got it back late Tuesday evening. Lost it again the following monring. And have had it back since Wednesday evening. Water came back on Wednesday night too. We only had a few trees down and no real damage to speak of other than my issues with my internet connection which started two days before Gustav hit. I've been on my neighbor's network since Saturday  :|

Wooo Hoooo no power from 11:15 A.M. Monday  until 1:00 P.M. Sunday  Now I too have the POWER.  I will be back on tonight.   This for me was 10 or 20 times worse than Katrina and 5 or 10 times worse than Andrew.   Lost less than a third of a bundle of shingles off of the peak of the roof.  Already repaired and lost tops of tree and several limbs.  Had neighbor's tree in my pool.  No damage to pool.   Lost 2 pieces of tin off the shed.

My neighbor has a large pine tree that's within reach of my pool and patio cover if it falls. Hopefully he'll get to cutting it down soon. I only had to scoop out a frog. The skimmers and Polaris took care of the rest.

Ready for Ike? http://www.weather.com/maps/news/atlstorm9/projectedpath_large.html?from=newslinker3
