I have a customer's 2008 Cobalt to put an amplifier and new speakers on the factory CD with XM radio. In the past I have done this on many GM vehicles and the door chime through the driver's door is amplified as well and is super loud.
Just wondering what others have done to combat this.
I was thinking about just running a SNI-35 to the rear speakers and then run all four channels on the amp off them. Just forget about fader and the door chime all together. I haven't approached the customer about this yet though.

it takes 2 relays. both relays trigger off the dome supervision wire. its a grey wire in pluc C3(red plug) at the BCM(part of the fuse box). connect term 86 on both relays to this wire, term 85 to 12v, term 30 to the radio side of the front driver door speaker wires, term 87a to the side that is going out to the amp, term 87 to the speaker side of the front driver door speaker wires. when the dome light is on the relays activate and terminals 30 and 87 connect to send the sound from the stereo and not the amp to that speaker.
