got a 01 ranger with no power accersories and manual trans. but its got a whooole lot of goodies inside and out. i want remote start and alarm. i can install it all myself thats not a problem. just wondering what alarm to get. any advice?

You really should get one that works with manual transmissions. I think it's becoming more prevalent, but I am very happy with my Compustar p2w900FM-AS which will work with a manual. From what I saw of the process though, it seems like a pain to remote start a manual. Compustar wants you park, leave the car running out of gear, press some button, and then get out. Once the door closes it will shut off the engine. I believe it's a safety issue, so the brain is sure your out of gear for when it remote starts.
Perhaps someone has experience with an easier process or will say that you get used to it.

far as i know thats the only way. scyteck and DEI carry remote starts for manuals. if you go with scytek(easier to install) make sure the part number ends with an "M". that is the designation for manual remote starts.
