garage door

I am trying to wire my garage door so that I can open it with my alarm, does anyone know how to do this???? Thanks for your help in advanced

I would do it like this:

First, replace the battery in the garage door remote with a regulated DC power supply (like a 7809 chip for a 9v battery etc).  This way you never have to worry about dead batteries.

Next, find the switch on  the circuit board that you push to make the garage door open and close.  Most of them have four contacts on them.  With an ohm meter find a set of contacts that closes when you push the button (most garage doors openers seem to have two sets of contacts - thats why there are 4 pins).  It doesn't matter which set you use, as long as it shows 0 ohms when the button is pushed.

Once you find the two places to connect to the circuit board solder a lenght of wire to these contacts.  Connect one side of the contacts to pin 30 of a Bosch style relay.  Connect the other side of the contacts to pin 87 of the same relay.  Now, connect Pin 85 to 12vdc power and connect Pin 86 to the (-) output of the alarm that you want to use.
