Anybody out there got a step by step (pics would be nice) of how to remove the door panels on a 2004 Hyundai Sonata? front and rear......I know that replacing the 6x9 speakers in the back is a job and a half but have no clue where to start on the panels, and I do not want to break anything

I had a bad experience with my Mazda pickup doing the same thing and I am not a patient person.

if you arent patient have someone else do it.

but i would start by looking for the obvious pieces that pop off or are fastened down, usually around the handles and side mirror etc. if you are certain all screws are out start at the bottom, it will either snap off or slide up and out. if you pull on the bottom and you dont here or feel any snaps then push in and pull up and it should just slide up and then pull off.

possibilities are limitless. if you can think it you can do it.

You would be better off checking a Sonata specific forum.  Most specific forums have detailed DiY for door panel removal or speaker replacement.

1. Extract (4) phillips head screws from perimeter of the door panel. 2. Extract (1) phillips head screw from door release cup and then remove the window/door lock control panel with a panel removal tool.  3. Unsnap and remove the cover from the bottom of the door handle cup. Remove (1) phillips head screw from behind then remove the cup.  4. Remove (2) plastic screw covers from outer side of the door panel, and remove (2) phillips head screws from behind the covers.

Viola' your panel is removed.

This is the procedure for the 2000 - 04 sonata's.
