Ok guys need your help. My neighbor is in Atlanta on a vacation and her Xterra will not start. She as a 04 with an Avital remote 2 way system. That's all I know about it. She called me last night in a panic saying the car would not start with the key. She stated that everything is working on the truck(windows, raido and air) but it will not start. I asked her to do a remote start, she tried but the 2 way pops up a "clock". Can not seem to figure this out over the phone. Anyone have any suggestions? I am in Nashville and cannot get to her.
It's all fun and games till someone looses an eye.

Ok this is 4 days late but I'll give it a shot anyway.
First thing, replace the battery in the 2 way remote.
Second, check all the fuses on the truck, both underhood and inside.
Third, find out if it's cranking without starting or if it's not cranking at all.
Cranking w/ no start points to possibly an issue with the immobilizer. Not cranking suggests the starter kill from the Avital is engaged and either the system isn't disarmed via the remote, or a wire has come loose.
