I have a 2008 Chevrolet Impala that doesn't have bose or onstar (got a great deal on the car)...

Anyway, from what I've been researching, if I don't use the special harness (between $80 & $130) I'll lose the warning chimes.

What chimes are they talking about specifically ?

Thanks !

"yo, you left your lights on!" chimes.  "Hey, the key is in the ignition!" chimes, etc.

well... since I leave the lights on Auto & always use the remote to lock, it won't be a problem.

Thanks !

In many locations a vehicle won't pass a safety inspection without the chimes functioning. The modules are worth the money and make the install easier and proper.

Dont' forget that the module gives you Acc turn on for the aftermarket deck as well as RAP.

RAP Retained Audio Power.  The radio stays on until you open the door.

Hi,
If you're not interested in those features, can you still connect an aftermarket radio without that interface?

Sorry, you can NOT post a reply.
