with the XK01 do you still need to use a window control module?

According to the manual for the XK01 with AMDL6 firmware it will do window roll-up on all the GM vehicles it's listed for, and on the Grand Cherokee...however I believe that's a typo on the part of Bypasskit. It definitely will not do window roll down if you were looking to do that as well.
AFAIK the only vehicles in the list there that have data window control are the Grand Cherokee and the '03-up full-size pickups. If you wanted to use it for window up only, you can test your car in the following way.
While operating each window from the master switch, listen for the slight click of a relay in the door where the window is being activated. It's best to do this with the window all the way up or down so you'll be able to distinguish the "click" from the sound of the window itself moving.
If you hear that slight click, your car has data windows and the XK01 will roll them up. If not, you'll need a separate window control module.
Also, someone else here might know for a fact that your car has that feature? I've never worked on one so I can't be sure.
