Hi Guys,

What would be the difference in sound between the two scenerios below?

1.  Single JL 10w6v1 with JL 500/1v2 AMP (500w RMS)?

2. Single JL 10w1v2 with JL 250/1v2 AMP (250w RMS)?

I have an x5, for which I will be making a stealth box and can only use 1 10" sub.   The only other consideration is the 10w6v1 has a mounting depth of almost 7", while the 10w1v2 has a mounting depth of about 4.5".  If I go with the 10w6v1, It won't look as clean because it will stick out a bit from my side compartment and I may need to do some additional modification to make it look right.   I think I only have about 5-6" in depth to work with.  Would the difference in sound be worth the extra effort?

Do you know if the actual volume of the box would need to be different for two subs?  I ask becuase I plan on modeling my design after the JL Stealthbox which uses the 10w1v2.

I appreciate your help.

TC

Seriously when people ask questions like "A vs. B"
There is really no answer...it all depends on the install.

Assuming both installs are clean, could someone please tell me what the difference in sound would be between the two scenerios?

still...no definitive answer. Both enclosures will not perform at their bests in the exact same enclosure...Also size and tunings would be different.
Seriously we can't tell you anything.

It's like comparing a Ferrari, vs. a Honda.  10w6 will DESTROY the 10W1.  10W6 will be smoother, cleaner, and a lot more musical than the 10W1.  That's why it's 6 times the expense.
