If your amp has a regulated power supply, the amp will put out the same amount of power at voltages from 11.5V to 14.5V. As the voltages changes the amp auto adjusts. Ex: JL Slash.
If it's unregulated the power output will vary with voltage. Ex Orion HCCA. Look at the amp spec and see if it gives multiple specs for different voltages. The power output between 13.4 and 14.4 V isn't enough to throw you back in the seat.
Both styles have limits between 10.5V and 15V when they shutdown. Some SPL guys will use 16V systems with amps designed for the purpose.
Jacobs made a device called an Accuvolt that could spit out 100 or so amps, out of production. US Amps made a voltage unit that I believe has been discontinued. Sinfoni has one still available. The money is better spent on a proper HO alt, battery(s), professional installation.
