In box building, can someone tell me what vb stands for? i found the formula, but i dont understand what it is used for.

ok lemme rephrase, i know what is stands for, but why would you be interested in it for building a box?? whats the usefulness of it? vb???

now that's just damn funny!

Net Volume of the box will be the usable air space that the sub will have access to.. total gross volume minus the displacement of the sub, port, and braces you may have..

Simply put, it's the box volume remaining after all other space occupying portions of the system are subtracted.

"Vb is what your design calls for as a net enclosure volume - it's what you need for the system to function in a desired or predicted manner. Net enclosure volume means total enclosure volume after subtracting all bracing, the vent (if applicable), and the driver itself". It is the number that any box building program will be giving you, i.e 1.65 cubic feet.

It all reminds me of something that Molière once said to Guy de Maupassant at a café in Vienna: "That's nice. You should write it down."
