You dont use a bitwriter to program a remote.  Use the valet button.  Open the door, turn the key ON, press and release the button once, then press and hold, then press the lock button.  Turn key off, close door and test.

If position 1 doesnt learn the remote correctly (gives you a single button for arm/disarm, you need to program the remote into position 6or7or8, look to an installation manual)

In the manual it says if the remote was programmed by the bitwriter- you wont be able to program another remote using the valet feature......????

you dont use the Bitwriter at all to program new remotes..... you only use it to program user features to the brain....

I dont know what you guys are reading

But it in the manual it says if the learn routine is locked by the bitwriter than it has to be unlocked by the bitwriter to program any CODES and REMOTES!

I have never been locked out of programming with the valet mode. Your best bet is to go to a local shop and see if they are able to program it. Or if you know how to try. Where in IL are you located.

kdog you've never been locked out of programming, hmmm, u must be new to dei alarms, once they are locked by the bitwriter, they must be unlocked by a bitwriter, to acess any programming features. way2qck4u2c once u hear a long chirp from the siren when attempting to program the remote, then the brain is locked.
