Hello all,

I installed an autopage remote start system in my 2007 Chrysler Town & Country and cannot seem to get the parking lights to flash.

I am trying to tap into the wire at the headlight switch (WHITE/ brown) but it does not seem to work.

I was informed of the resistance issue but do not know what ohm resistors I need. Can anyone help me with this problem?

Thanks.

The parking lights are negative trigger thru a 2.1K ohm resistor at the light switch. There is a rest resistance on the wire, so MUST use a relay to isolate away from the switch.
See diagram HERE

I know this sounds like cheating, but i have never added the relay to isloate the switch. I find it easier to add another size resistor that will equal 2.1 with the switch wire and wire that directly to the alarm. I've done hundreds this way and never a comeback. I find this value by simply trial and error. I have a bag of misc. sized resistors and simply tap them on the wire and ground the other end. If the parking lights come on i know it's the one. If your wrong it won't hurt a thing(tho some values will turn on the headlamps). It usually takes 4 or 5 tries to get it, but much quicker than wiring a relay. I do record the values and wish i had my laptop here to tell you exactly what you need...

diode and a 2k resistor right on the negative parklight wire.

On a Town and Country, with automatic headlights, I would suggest interrupting the wire as mentioned in BigDog's post. If it didn't have the autolamps you could get away with using a smaller resistor directly - usually on those vehicles I manually apply ground through different resistors until I get one that works.

Who said cheaters never win......sounds like a good idea!  Haven't done any town and country's.......ever, i think, but if i do get the chance to work on one, I'll give it a shot if it doesn't have the automatic lights.  Good info...

Hey it works on all Chrysler products that have the resisted value lights, Cherokee, Sebring, Liberty, all of them....

Thank you all for your help on this one. I did like you all said and applied  resistor until one worked. That was a great idea!!

Thanks everyone again.

Also, I did not need the relay, it worked fine just with the resistor.

This also works with the doorlocks. I never use relays for the doorlocks on Chrysler stuff. You do need to put a diode on both the lock and unlock wires of the alarm along with your resistors.
