2003 impala keyless entry

I finally had some time to try all the advice and have had success locking the door using the relay system but I have hit another snag, when both wires goto the unlock/ lock wire for the car they both dont work however when I hook one or the other wire from the keyelss system or the relay up the doors unlock or lock.

I think Im very close but still need a nudge from you folks, Please.

Put a diode inline on each of the wires coming from the relays where they tie into the lock wires in the car. face each diode with the band towards the relays.

what size diode?

use 1N4001/L diodes.
