I have an Astrostart 2006 in my wife's Windstar and am wondering how to return the unit to its default settings. Have been trying to program the tach setting and seem to be making things worse. The vehicle would start and run for about 30 seconds, then quit and start again. Kept repeating this cycle so I thought it might be a tach issue. Tried to program the tach and now the unit will not start at all. How do I reset it to its factory defaults?

I am not familiar with that particular model, however on all the astro's ive installed you just flip up the #7 dipswitch and press the brake pedal. That will reset the unit to factory settings

What year is the windstar?

The tach default is a single cylinder reading with an 800 rpm cutoff.

The reason I ask the year is you might have a bypass issue. If you return to default on all, you programmable output (if used and changed)

would go to default, leaving whatever they were triggering.....useless.
