I have the kenwood kvt911dvd and the khd-c710 kenwood music keg installed in my 2002 Chrysler PT Cruiser.  Sometimes when i start my car the headunit does not recognize the music keg and i have to turn it off and then restart it.

Any ideas of what would cause that or how to stop it?

You said "...when you start your car...".  Do you mean whenever the radio gets turned on?  Or is it literally only when the radio is turned on by the vehicle starting?  In other words, does this same problem ever happen if you just turn the key backwards to turn the radio on and leave the car off?

Of course as usual double check the grounds for the radio, and the data cable that goes to the keg from the head unit.  Make sure it's not being pinched anywhere and that it has a good solid connection.
