Hi,1st, sorry for my poor english and congratulatios for you forum (iīm new member). I ask if anybody can help me(i donīt understand nothing, nothing about electronic? Who can draw a diagram for a lantern light dimmer? It works with a 12v 50w halogen lamp, the idea is when to regulate dimmer for 50%, for example, and this reduce the consume of battery. I have searched for examples but how i donīt understand anything and the diagrams always have more elements that i need and i canīt change them. Please help me

Have you tried connecting 2 bulbs in series?  If they do light up in this configuration, the current consumption will be 50% of one bulb.

you need a PWM circuit, the typical resistor type dimmer will just waste the same amount as heat, as opposed to actually reducing consumption.
I wouldn;t recommend it though.
double your batteries, or set the 12v pack up as twin 6 volts for more reserve capacity, then look for a 6v 50w bulb.
