I searched, I swear I did..
Im pretty sure I know the answer to this, but i dont want to potentially hurt the alarm..
DEI alarm, one standard LED.. BUT, I want to put a switch in that will switch from the one normal LED to an array of 4 I have installed in the front of my KITT car... yes, a knight rider car.. in stead of having red plexi iin front of the scanner light I went with clear fogged plexi and an array of 4 dei alarm LED's edge lighting them to look like this
not the same led add-on, dei alarm - Last Post -- posted image.
the issue is that the DEI led's obviously do not get a 12volt feed, and the alarm output isnt 12volts, but the 4 led's i put in the front are fed 12v and all of the diodes are already installed in the front of the car..... basically is there any way I can simply switch between them for temporary use? The front LED's are fed 12v directly and grounded to chassis, but will they even light with the limited voltage of the dei led output? If they will light, will there be any issues with the led's grounding to chassis instead of back to the LED ground input?
I think they will light up with the limited voltage from the output, but the ground im really not sure of.. would I need to run another ground from the front led's and switch this so it would connect to the dei LED ground?
I really think that im overthinking this, but I would hate to fry anything.
Thanks much!

mmmm.... that might be a little tough at this point :D .. i went a little bit overkill on the install and to get to the ground when armed out would require some minor surgery.. if it comes down to it i might have to rip it all out, but is there any other way?
thanks!

No, sorry, been there myself, just call it version 1.2  It's all part of the learning curve.
