I arrived at this site while trying to find information about aftermarket remote start systems. I want to install one in my wife's car for Christmas.
I have read several forums and I still have no idea which remote start package to purchase. I would like one which includes keyless entry if possible. I am an electrical engineer so I shouldn't have too much trouble installing one. Any recommendations would be appreciated.
Car details: 2005 Suzuki Aerio. Basic model with power locks
Thanks.

Any basic remote starter will do. Go with reputable brands like Viper, Python, Clifford, Autostart, Command Start etc. Stay away from Bulldog or BOA.

Very easy car to do. If it's a manual transmission car, be sure your remote starter is manual transmission capable.

Here's the wiring info: Suzuki Aerio

being an engineer you should have no problems picking something out. most all units have keyless entry built into them. you would really have to "search" to find one that did not have that feature. i guess the only suggestion i would have is to let common sense and good judgment prevail. like dont buy junk off of flea bay. stick with name brands and companies that have been around for awhile. dont just get one because its "cheap". im not saying you have to spend alot of money, good products can be bought for a fair price. unless you are wanting to do something special or specific that only a certain brand might accomplish i really cant see how anyone could really suggest a particular brand or unit as thats all just opinion. but you really cant go too wrong with most anything you pick thats is a good name brand product.

was there something particular you wanted? like a 2 way remote? or some type of feature you need to have? that will open this thread to alot of suggestions if that is the case. and we can definitly steer you to something then.

Thanks for the quick responses, it is good to know which brands to trust and which to stay away from. I was considering Bulldog. I'm really looking for a basic model so I don't need 2 way communication.
Do you have any suggestions in the $50-$100 range? Or am I setting myself up for failure with such an inexpensive system?

no, there is alot in that price range. in that price range i prefer the DEI line called VALET. good brand, lots of flexibility and options for install and features. for simple remote start and keyless the 562T is a good one.

P.S. its a good idea to stay away from the BULLDOG stuff.

if you just GOOGLE "valet 562t" you should be able to find them at a few places for around $70.

What about something like the "Command Start CS396I". I found one for $70. What do you think?
