Key to start and run = normal operation of van

Remote started then key put in ignition and turned on brake pressed to turn off r/s = van continues to run normally

Van started with ign. key then r/s started key turned off and removed = van continues to run for about 4 minutes then dies check engine illuminates and ign. and acc. stay powered same as normal r/s operation

Hope this makes sense?  Thanks again

what does the led flashes tell you as far as why it shutdown? how many flashes are you getting?

I was getting timed out code.  However I was just out trying things, with my dummy (door only) key.  With remote start running I can put this key into igniton and turn it on and after the 3-4 minutes I can hear remote start click (relay within) but with key on it continues to run.  But if I turn it off then van dies and lights illumniate same as "usual" r/s shut down.

If it runs fine when you normally remote start and runs for the duration but only 4 minutes or so when you remote start after driving and then remove the key, that sound like turbo timer mode to me.

Just re-read ckeeler's reply, about turbo timer mode, never mind my dumb question, pretty obvious know.  However the r/s never runs longer than 3-4 minutes.  Something changes causing it to stop, unless I interupt it before 3-4 minutes (turn key to on).   Hope that makes it more clear not more confusing.

so your saying it only goes 3-4 minutes no matter what? even if just normally remote started from in your house?  diagnostics says timed out? you probably need a new unit.

Ok I didn't buy a new r/s, but got to thinking why not pull the fully funtional unit for the pickup truck and try that one?  So I did, voilla now fully functional van r/s. 2008 chevy express, r/s cycle, bypass - Page 2 -- posted image.  So why not throw the other r/s aka POS into the pickup truck, just for fun?  I did, works perfectly in there.  So I guess now all parts of this equation are nailed down.  THANK YOU ALL for help, wonderful site.  I will keep an eye out to see if I can ever add anything in the future.  I am  not an accessory installer, I am however an electrician, but have some common sense to add.2008 chevy express, r/s cycle, bypass - Page 2 -- posted image.
