I just installed a remote start on my 2001 monte carlo and all of the alarm functions work fine, but the remote start does nothing. When I press the buttons to make it remote start, the siren chirps, and lights flash as they are supposed to, but then nothing happens for about 5 seconds. Then the remote beeps 3 times which I am guessing means a failed attempt. The ignition never gets turned on, and I don't hear any clicking in the unit after the lights flash. Any suggestions would be much appreciated, because I have no idea what the problem is. Thanks.

Yes, the hood pin is not grounded (disconnected right now). The neutral safety is grounded, and I have installed the correct bypass. It doesn't even get to the point where the bypass makes a difference though because it never turns on the ignition, fuel pump, etc. I do know the bypass is working correctly though.

Yes I did, and I had to program the RS unit for 2 ignition output. I still get nothing.

The wrong brake wire(connected to 12volts) will give a chirp and a flash, but as the ignition tries to turn on it shuts the entire system down. Is this a Avox RS?

No, it isn't the brake wire.  I disconnected the brake wire and tried starting it and still no luck.  It is not an Avox, I will check what brand and let you know.

Test your ouputs of the remote start during the remote start process. Make sure everything powers up like it's supposed to. Test on the vehicles ignition harness, it's possible you have a bad connection somewhere. What kind of connections did you use? What are you using to test your wires?

Put the key in the ignition then remote start it and see what happens. Test the output of the starter wire when the remote start is activating.
