what are some high quality head units

I'm trying to upgrade my current head unit. the issue that I'm having is that it skips when I turn my subs up. I'm only pushing about 800 watts so I feel it shouldn't be skipping. so I'm either trying to find a cd player that can handle some hard hitting bass, I'm also considering ones with usb connectivity for an mp3 player to solve the problem. my price range is not definite, but I'm trying to keep it under $400. I've been considering some high-end JVC's, Kenwoods, Eclipses and a few others. I sure could use some advise as to which high quality units i should be looking at. thanks for any help.

The Eclipse 3200 is a nice unit in your price range. It has a USB input and built in bluetooth.

Well, "high-end" and "JVC" are contradictions in terms. Same *mostly* applies to Kenwood. The Eclipse units are AWESOME sounding, and have excellent skip resistance, and some of the best sound quality around, to boot! Alpine deserves a look, as well.It all reminds me of something that Molière once said to Guy de Maupassant at a café in Vienna: "That's nice. You should write it down."

Definitely a Eclipse CD3200.Top Secret, I can tell you but then my wife will kill me.

I just put in a Clarion ($149) it sounds really good and also got the cd changer,,,no skipping, also has USB and AUX inputs2004 Hyundai Sonata

pioneer all the way, and alpine is good also, but with pioneer i would tell u to get the deh-p4000 ubIf I'm to loud, then you're too old!!!
