Looking for literature on transmitter range performance with mettallic window tint.

If you have tint on the front window, it WILL interfear. The same way it does with A.M. reception on the cars with the antenna in the rear glass.

It will also make prox detctors less sensitive.

So for the install I've got coming up that has the whole front windshield tinted, I'll need to trim some tint back?

dont cut the tint !!! cutting the tint will case that portion to end up peeling then it will lead to bubbles, plus the shop that installed the tint wont do a lifetime warrenty since you cut it. It reduces range, but not that much

Just get the receiver up on the glass..... plenty good enough!
