Hello, I had a 791xv viper remote start alarm installed about a year ago at a Best Buy. Now when I go to start the vehicle with the remote start is just continues to crank. The only time it will start is when I have the key in the ignition and then hit remote start, it will then work and I am able to remove the key while it is still running. I would just bring it back to best buy and have them fix this with the warranty but I can't find the paperwork DOH!! nissan armada, viper 791xv keeps cranking -- posted image. I have also tried to press the valet button within the first 5 seconds of it starting and then tried the R.S. but still same thing.
I have read a couple threads similar to this about wiring and bypass but I am not sure which direction to go. Any help would be greatly appeciated.

firstly best buy keeps your info on system. go to the store you got it at and have them look it up at the service desk.

sounds like a tach issue. I can't remember how to relearn tach on viper. but yeah sounds like tach.

Its a bypass issue. Did they use your valet key in a 556U bypass module? If so, they need to reposition the key or antenna ring.

Jworm is correct, definately not a tach issue! Do you remember giving up your valet key when they did the install? If so chances are the ring isn't tight enough against the key cylinder. Aso, did you have any new keys programmed to your truck? If so they erased the bypass key....

1st) best buy doesn't keep your info in the computer. all installation receipts are hand written. they are not scanned into a database. the store is only requires to keep receipts back for one year in the store. but unless you know what day (+- a few days) good luck having them look the receipt up.
2nd) as stated, bypass issue.

Thanks for all the quick replies. After looking for hours I found my receipt for warranty I will be taking it up there. After, I will post what they did to fix the problem for future reference to anyone who may have the same problem.
FYI they keep info in their systems for 90 days.
