Every DEI remote start I've ever done, I was able to go into the setting menu and change the parking lights to steady on by programming it withe the valet switch. Look in your installation manual. You shouldn't have to do anything extra, just have the wire hookep like normal and change the settings in the setting/features menu.

This is the 3rd 569T I have installed. I have read all the documentation from cover to cover.

There is no valet switch. It is a very basic one-button system & doesn't offer an option for the parking lights. At least not one that is in the manuals.

Not the end of the world, I can live with the flashing.

Thanks cutdog, I appreciate the help.

Relax Coyote, wasn't having a go,I was trying to make you think!  Now a secret....over here the Cat l alarms don't have any provision for controlling light output so I used a spare ign 2 and wired it to my lights (we actually use the indicators everywhere but North America) it works a treat. Cut dog, I looked at the instructions, generally you are quite right ref DEI but this one definately has no provision to change the light application from flashing to constant. If you aren't using the acc output, use that to feed that wire (any unused ign or acc output will do). I know it doesn't sound logical but assuming the white wire goes pos. from the unit that's all you have to do.

Ok, so I've never done a 569t, but every other DEI I've done had a feature to change the parking lights. "My bad"

I need to connect a remote start disarm wire to my vehicle which requires an 8.5K pulse.

First question, I could only get an 8.2K resistor, is the close enough?

Secondly...when I connect a 8.2K reststor to a 1N4001 diode (to isolate) and take an ohm reading across them both I get 2.5M ohms....so what do I have to do to get that 8.2K pulse through?

Yes I am a beginner so please be patient. Thanks.
