Quick question, my amp all the sudden will not turn on and im positive i have a good ground and power iv shot them both and secured the connections. I am curious if i turn on my car (& radio) and shoot the amp side of the remote wire for power, am i supposed to see anything? as of now im shooting nothing so im hoping i dont have a break or a short in my remote wire or anything... i dont know if there is actually hot power coming through the remote wire or not. anyone know?

That's what volt meters are for. Have you checked with a meter? We can't say yes or no, we're not physically there.
It all reminds me of something that Molière once said to Guy de Maupassant at a café in Vienna: "That's nice. You should write it down."

Yes, you should see 12 volts (or thereabouts) when the radio is powered on.
