Hello,

I have an Ultra Start 4561M installed in my 1999 Honda Civic DX Hatchback.

Now the starter works flawlessly including door locks, and starter.

The problem is now this. I was driving down the highway tonight In the dark and my dash lights flikered a bit then completely went out. I checked the fuse it did not seem blown replaced it with a new good one... no good. tried another no good still. Took the dimmer switch out of the dash and jumpered it. Lights did not come on. Then I noticed that when I locked the door the dash lights flickered. with the Alarm. I then tried to start the car and voila the dash lights stayed on and completely worked flawlessly.

This has been installed and worked flawlessly for three years now. Is there something that has become suspect or anything that you guy's could think of that would cause this. It is all dash lights, not just instrument lights. It would be nice not to have to drive by flashlight.

Your immediate help is appreciated as I have to drive a long way in only two days.

Thanks

Jeff

Where did you tap into the lights ? If you used the dimmer switch wire, you may have evenutally damaged the switch. There is aa small circuit board on there and look at the trace circuits on that board. If there's a trace that is burned out, that is your problem. I had this same issue with a Pathfinder last week.

So after further investigation I start checkign out wires and the dimmer works, cause when I take the connector off of the headlight combination switch and bridge the 12v wire to the RED / grn wire the dash lights come on and so do the marker lights (now I find out the marker lights were out as well). So I figure it has to be the light switch so in a strange city Edmonton I go and find a used one. I install it and voila same problem no marker lights or head lights however whenever I command start the car the dash lights are on and the marker lights are on, and the dimmer still works!

I am at a loss I do not know what the hell is going on!
