ok so i have figured out that i need a positive output by checking the previous alarm system that was installed. now, how do i adjust the polarity from negative to positive? my alarm manual says that it has a built in programmable relay.

Take a look at page 20...it shows how to change the jumper for parking lights. It also shows that the default position is positive so you should not need to change it to hook to the positive light circuit. I would suggest popping the cover off, just to make sure.
Installer, IT support, and FFL. I need less hobbies.

directechs calls for the same white purple wire on the last pin of a 26 pin brown plug. I'd normally use negative parking lights on a more complex car like this cuz it's usually safer, but they've got the negative headlightas multiplexed in with them.

If it's capable of sinking high current, it's no safer.
