2004 Acura MDX
viper 160 remote start with the keyless entry hooked up.
Everything works great except when the truck sits overnight and is remote started in the morning, the factory alarm will go off.
at first I was able to stop this by unlocking the truck with the viper keypad, remote start it, then lock it. But now even unlocking withthe viper remote will set off the factory alarm.
I see the factory alarm disarm is at the key cylinder in the drivers door. Is there any other way around this? I dont want to have to go into the door to disarm the factory alarm.
Thanks
Adam

I have seen some reports of the problem being the parking lights being energized by the remote starter before the factory alarm defeat signal is sent, which trips the alarm.

They say to hard wire the headlights and not to run them through Data 2.

Not sure if this helps in your situation or not.

All wires to the door can be found in the drivers kick panel.

Honda factory alarms just suck - for whatever reason they don't make them disarm with "keysense" or "ignition and valid transponder code" like just about every other manufacturer does.
The only real alternatives to running a disarm wire inside the door would be using a data module for lock/unlock/arm/disarm(Bypasskit doesn't have one and I don't know who else does), interrupting the horn circuit between its relay and the actual horns using a separate relay(the alarm would still go off for a while but it'd be somewhat less annoying, but this is probably just as hard as running a wire into the door).
You might also possibly find the factory keyless/alarm unit(s) inside the car and figure out a way to either disarm them or interrupt their ignition input if that car uses one or two dedicated ECUs for keyless and alarm. (I've done this on an '01 CL once - '98-'02 Accords and '99-'03 TLs are the same way).

If you decide to go into the door, run 2 wires, so you can arm & disarm the factory alarm. I just did one the other day. It's not that hard to do.

Disarm = blue in blue plug @ drivers door module, inside drivers door

Arm = blue/white in blue plug @ drivers door module, inside drivers door

Good Enough Isn't!

You can also go to the passenger side fusebox in the top right green plug on the bottom row there are i believe 3 or so empty pins one is disarm and one is arm test with the key in the drivers door.
