Hello, can anyone help me out, installing an alarm in a 99 grand am, pontiac. with the one wire (-) door lock system. it says i need a 1500 ohm resistor for the unlock and i put together the 2 relay pack it shows me with 2 wires going to the one wire and one has a resistor, but when i hit the alarm it doesn't lock the doors or unlock. the wire diagrham says something about where the door lock motors are, but nothing said i had to hook those to something. does anyone know?

post a pic of how you got it going and diode isolate dont relay it some of these cars are alil tricky but nothing you cant do an post make and model of the alarm you are using will make it a lil easier for the guys on the site to help you.

if the unit has negative lock outputs wire it to two relays like so.

Lock relay

85 - lock output from alarm

86 - constant 12v fused at 5amps

87 - ground

30 - to White(-) wire on car @ DKP for lock

Unlock Relay

85 - unlock output from unit

86 - constant 12v fused @ 5 amps

87 - ground

30 - to unlock wire White(-) on car with 1500ohm resistor inline.

You only need one relay

85 to unlock from alarm

86 to fused 12 volts

87 to ground 1500 ohm resistor inline

87a to lock from alarm

30 to white wire in car

with 1 wire systems i always hook rite up to the wire with No relays to see if the unit im installing will provide the correct resistance

In most cases it will lock or unlock the door (One or the other)

So then I go about .100 less than what the diagrams says and it all works fine

Then i write this # down for the next car

Easy no relays

Im not at work , but off the top of my head you will need .38 ohm to do lock or unlock and hook direct for the other.

This only works if the unit wont flop the pol. If it does.............. diodes will be needed

One amp diode with stripe facing alarm connected to unlock wire of alarm. Other side of diode connected to white wire in car.

Lock wire from alarm connected directly to white wire in car. No relays.

Arm and disarm with all doors closed. An open door might cause the BCM to override a lock command (so you don't get locked out).

well dont read what i have to say next time. the guy was waiting for a response which i thought i could have helped him with thats all. anyway this guy made the most out of this. g/l
