Has anybody ever hooked their heated seats to the defogger output of their viper alarm?

Don't know, but it should be possible.  But it would help a LOT if we knew what kind of car you were dealing with.

i do alot of the time. i always do it that way on my own cars. i figure if its cold enough to want to turn on the seat heaters its cold enough to turn on the rear window defroster and vise versa. i never use the 2nd status output either. i always use another channel so it can be turned on or off by pushing another button whenever its wanted.

I wouldn't drive too many relays with that ouput, though. If you are, isolate it with a relay. It only supports 250ma.

I'll use channel 4 of my unit and program it to link with my remote start. now just to figure out which wire to tie into on my truck. should be easy, it's on or off system. thanks

if i remember, there are some bypasskits out there that turn on the heated seats via canbus. what bypass you using?

i will often hardwire most of my wires if possible. i avoid the d2d (rs232 dataport) since it can create some faults.
