Hey I've got a 1994 Nissan 180sx SR20det blacktop and I'm looking for a good 2 way alarm system. Can anyone point me in the right direction?

Thanks, Simon

stick with DEI (viper, clifford, python, avital, hornet, astro, etc) or compustar.

im into compustar since i use it more often than DEI stuff.

viper 5701

compustar P2w900FM-AS

if ur looking for remote start the viper 5900 is an excellent choice for safety and convenience, with a one mile line of sight radius, basic two way safety the viper 5002 is also an excellent choice for safety with on board relays for locks and immobilizer, makes doing it yourself a breeze. also comes with an optional carjacking system which is great, once you can understand and operate it correctly.  there are other great systems, from dei, but just my two cents.

All I can say is, if this remote is going to be used extensively, OLEDs tend to get damged easily or die prematurely, especially if they're manufactured using cheap components. I'm not saying your selection is cheap but, I'm making you aware. LCD's are quite robust but, again can have some of the same pitfalls. LEDs are the most hardened remotes available. They tend to last quite a long time.

In a 2-way system, what features are you looking for?

  • R/S?
  • Alarm?
  • Basic, advanced, or extensive violation coverage?
  • Additional backup?
  • Coolness factor?
Ideal - cmon dude, add to topics in a useful manner, not stuff that is obvious.
Story - Phzzzt! Hey, what happened?! ... Isn't it obvious?
Moral - Never dismiss the obvious.

well it needs remote start, auto window windup, turbo timer mode. Other than that just a good reliable alarm..

And also the easier the install the better but I'm sure I'd work it out and if it looked somewhat nice that wouldn't go a stray but not essential.
