hello,
I recently installed a viper 5701 alarm in my car. Everything was working fine until I broke my remote. I bought a replacement 2-way remote and programmed it to the alarm. I can arm the alarm but I get an out of range notification on the remote now. Is there a function I accidentally turned off?
thanks,
David

Where did you buy the replacement?
Ideal - cmon dude, add to topics in a useful manner, not stuff that is obvious.
Story - Phzzzt! Hey, what happened?! ... Isn't it obvious?
Moral - Never dismiss the obvious.

Bought it at a local alarm shop, new in package. I put the broken remote back together and it will arm/disarm the alarm. The led's flash but the speaker does not work. Any time I arm it, I get a arm chirp from the siren and a few seconds later an out of range notification on the remote. I have set off the alarm while sitting in the car an I get no page to the remote.

Had similar problem - it's DEI's bug I think.
Paging stopped working two months after installation. All worked but feedback confirmation (had the same out of range notification)
Recently when parked a car for vacation in airport lot for 10 days, disconnected a battery. Strange, but after reconnecting battery after vacation got paging working again.
Try to disconnect you car battery over night.
