I've went through multiple pages of seach and still no definitive answer to my question?

I installed Viper 5900 with remote start on the Element and everything seems to be working fine.

I cut the Starter wire to have the anti grind and starter kill function.  The anti-grind feature works perfectly.

But, I can still start the car with the key even when alarm is armed.  Does this mean I installed it wrong?

search here in inconclusive because some say it should not start and some say it should start the the key.

what is the correct answer?

Automatic engine disable off is the default setting. When enabled, it should not start, even with the key while armed.
Ideal - cmon dude, add to topics in a useful manner, not stuff that is obvious.
Story - Phzzzt! Hey, what happened?! ... Isn't it obvious?
Moral - Never dismiss the obvious.

it should not start whether automatic engine disable is on or off, once the xcrs is correctly wired, the starter kill takes effect at default settings, except the system is in valet mode.

it should not start and the Automatic engine disable feature is a passive arming feature only.... verify that the green is going to key side and the violet is going to starter side....

sounds like its not getting a GWA input to the XCRS....
