I just purchased a Python 990 alarm and remote start kit for my gf's 99 Camry.
I have been doing some reading and I believe that this should not be a difficult install, just time consuming.
As this is my first alarm install I am wondering if anyone can give me a few pointers, tricks of the trade?
I am competent when it comes to car electronics.
Hopefully the system will be here by the end of the week so that I can get it in this weekend.
Also, I have seen a few posts on here about the 990 however, I have not really seen anything in terms of how people like the system. I purchased this one after it was suggested to me by people on one of my car forums.
Thank you in advance.

Also, is there a way I could hook it up yet leave it disabled?
What I mean by that is, her birthday is not until the end of the month and I will probably only have this weekend to install it. Is there a way I can install it yet not have it enabled until her birthday? i.e: not hook up the brain, just the wires?

Put it in valet and hide the remotes.
Ideal - cmon dude, add to topics in a useful manner, not stuff that is obvious.
Story - Phzzzt! Hey, what happened?! ... Isn't it obvious?
Moral - Never dismiss the obvious.

all i can say is bench prep and test!.....dont just start hooking up wires w/o knowing what they are...even if it is the color the tech sheet says it is...sometimes theres more than one wire the same color
