Installing a viper 5701 in a 2003 grand prix GXP model. My question for everyone is - Do you know if this car is supposed to have illuminated entry from simply pulling up on a locked door handle like some of the older gm's out there. I know 2004 was the model change but I've heard some 03 models were considered transition models.
What I'm looking to do is use the dome light as a trigger for the alarm. SO instead of the alarm being set off by opening the door, it would go off from simply pulling up on the door handle.

Many GM vehicles have the feature that if you lift the driver's door handle up with the door locked, the dome light turns on. Simply connecting to the dome light wire in the car will trigger the alarm to go off. Many of these cars have delayed interior lights that remain on for 30 seconds after the last door is shut, so make sure that your alarm can take care of the delay. The feature is usually only available on the driver's door though. Lifting the other door handles usually does nothing with the dome light.
