i did a remote start today on a 04 bonneville use a ca501 remote start with the idata link ads dl bypass kit. everything works fine but the customer called back saying that the speedometer is reading about double what hes actually doing. said hes doing 30 and its reading 60. ive never heard anything like this before. the only thing i can think if its something the bypass kit is doing through the data wire? hes bringing it back tomorrow but i wanted to get a head start on diagnosing it if anyone has ran into this help please. thanks

See if the English/Metric button has been pressed on the dashboard.
62MPH=100KM/H   If he's on the highway and it's reading 100 or more, he's probably got it switched to Metric.

LOL! Thanx for that, Chris Luongo. You made my day. I was stumped, as I didn't want to ask if the vehicle had a digital display, without looking like an idiot. I wasn't sure 04's had DDs.
Ideal - cmon dude, add to topics in a useful manner, not stuff that is obvious.
Story - Phzzzt! Hey, what happened?! ... Isn't it obvious?
Moral - Never dismiss the obvious.

well it doesnt have a digital display but it does have that button on the dash i checked that and it wasnt pressed. but i started looking for the speed sensor and found where it went into the transmission and it was all messed up. it looks like he hit something on the road or something. i removed the remote start and it had the same problem so im assuming its the speed sensor.
